POSITION TITLE:     Program Manager - IT

REPORTS TO:         Group Program Manager

Location:  Seattle Office

SUPERVISES:          No One

 

POSITION SUMMARY:   A  Program Manager will work with the Business and Technology teams to plan and successfully execute projects to its completion according to the business needs. Program Manager may have to manage multiple projects at a time and will be involved in managing Healthcare Technology development projects.  

 

 

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:     Successful accomplishments and primary accountabilities of this position will depend upon establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of people.  Such people may include Milliman Care Guidelines staff, clients, vendors, Milliman Corporate staff, and visitors.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

·          Work closely with Product Management and IT teams to initiate, scope and launch new projects

·          Negotiate time, scope and budget with project stake holders

·          Collaborate with functional managers to create and manage project information including plans, schedules, resources, budgets, and use that information to create an integrated program plan

§          Resolve project schedule conflicts and look for opportunities to increase coordination of activities among the various projects and initiatives

§          Track, measure, and report on program progress, including but not limited to risks, resource usage, and target/actuals for program budget and schedules

§          Develop and implement best-practice methodologies, processes, and metrics to optimize the overall success, effectiveness, and efficiencies of programs

§          Create and update program dashboards with metrics for  productivity, utilization, and critical milestones

§          Ensure that information and communication about critical program activities flows appropriately at all levels.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Experience and Knowledge

§          Minimum of 5 years experience managing software development programs

§          Healthcare IT experience a strong advantage

§          Expert knowledge of project management best practices

§          Practical experience with risk analysis and conflict resolution

§          Critical thinking and strong analytical skills

§          Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects, perform under pressure and meet deadlines

§          Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

§          Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills

§          Proficient in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, SharePoint

 

§          A.            Licensure/Certifications/Registrations/Permits:  Bachelor's degree required.

                        Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
