POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Informatics Manager is responsible for planning, developing, organizing and implementing the clinical content related to the Milliman order catalog  The Milliman order catalog is a collection all acute patient care orders. 

Milliman Care Guidelines Major Responsibilities

• The Clinical Informatics Manager works collaboratively with product management, the content team and the IT team to create and maintain an order catalog for the Bedside Care Guidelines product.
• Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with all departments
• Build and maintain a codified library of orders for physician order set writers to use, including all types of acute patient care related orders e.g. medication, diagnostic, diet, and activity orders.
• Create an Order Catalog that is interoperable for use within a variety of different EHR Vendor Systems

• Lead the mapping of the Milliman Care Guidelines Order Catalog and Order Sets into 3^rd party vendor EHR systems
• Participate in the implementation of Milliman Order Sets and Order Catalog into clinical use by client to ensure optimal utilization of the Bedside Care Guidelines application, while providing appropriate levels of end user training and education, as needed.
• Accountable to Bedside Care Guidelines Product Management, Clinical Content, and IT leads
• Assist in defining the business requirements for the order catalog builder application.
• Other tasks as assigned

Experience Required:

· Five years in acute care environment, Medical Technician, R.N., Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician or related health care professional preferred.

· Experience in building Order Catalogs for use in CPOE applications.

· Extensive knowledge of controlled medical vocabularies, such as SNOMED-CT, RxNorm, LOINC, CPT

· Experience in working with drug databases

· A clinical understanding of how orders are used in acute care settings

· Experience in assisting with implementation of CPOE  systems

· Expertise in building and managing order catalogs.

· Special knowledge of ICD, and CPT coding helpful

· Familiarity with using 3rd party mapping products such as Health Language, Apelon preferred.

· Travel, including overnight stay approximately 25%.

Education or Training: Bachelors degree in related field, (Medical Technician, R.N., Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician or related health care professional license preferred).
