Training
Training is essential to the efficient and appropriate use of the Care Guidelines. We believe that learning is a shared responsibility and an ongoing process. Our Clinical Trainers are Registered Nurses and many are Certified Case and Disease Managers. They have a wealth of experience in a variety of inpatient and managed care settings. Our goal is to partner with you to deliver training that achieves lasting transfer of skills and knowledge. Milliman offers a variety of training options to meet this goal.
On Demand Training
On Demand Training is a series of 15 to 20 minute self-paced modules that deliver comprehensive basic training on all Care Guidelines products and CareWebQI® functionality. On Demand Training optimizes your ability to schedule training in your environment when it works best for you.
Client-hosted Regional Events
These training events are held at the facilities of a Milliman Care Guidelines client. Other clients within a prescribed geographic area are invited to attend training. These sessions can be one to several days in duration and the agenda can be customized to meet the learning needs of expected participants. Based on the agenda developed, Continuing Nursing Education contact hours may be available.
Web Seminars
Web Seminars are web-based training sessions that are open to all licensed clients. Offered on a recurring basis, Web Seminars provide instructor-led basic training on all Care Guidelines products. These sessions are didactic in their approach, are up to two hours in duration, and many include Continuing Nursing Education contact hours. Registration is through our website and can be completed easily and independently.
Medical Director Symposia
These Web Seminars are designed for medical directors and other clinicians who utilize the Care Guidelines. These one hour, informal sessions will provide a chance to explore topics in more depth, including new content and product features, "hot topics" that are suggested by the participants, as well as topics that are specific to the role of the medical director. Care Guidelines physician editors and training staff will be available to answer questions about the use of the guidelines in your daily medical management processes.
Customized Web-based
These instructor-led training sessions, also up to two hours in duration, are customized to meet your organization's specific learning needs. Together, you and the Clinical Trainer develop a training plan to meet your specific learning needs. Based on the agenda developed, Continuing Nursing Education contact hours may be available.
Onsite
Onsite training is delivered at your location and, like customized web-based training, the agenda and approach are designed to meet your organization's unique learning needs. The learning needs assessment conducted by your Clinical Trainer helps define the learning objectives, agenda, session content and specific learning activities. Based on the agenda developed, Continuing Nursing Education contact hours may be available.
Client Forum
This event provides an excellent opportunity for ongoing education. At the Client Forum, Milliman Care Guidelines clients and industry leaders share best practices, discuss the latest healthcare trends, learn about new Care Guidelines features, products and software, attend instructive product usage workshops, and build relationships with peers. The Client Forum is highly-interactive, and most valuable when attended by teams of individuals that range from care managers to chief medical officers.
